Blantyre (Commercial Capital)

Blantyre is home to the National Museum and the Church of St Michael's and All Angels - dating back to the late 1800's.

This is the second largest city in Malawi and was named after the birthplace of David Livingston.

You may want to see the outdoor market, or historical buildings such as Hotel Masongola (1865) and Mandala House (1885).

Blantyre may be used as a base to visit the many national parks and conservation areas in its vicinity. Not too far from Blantyre is the previous capital Zomba, where one can find a small botanical garden and interesting historical buildings.
