Malawi High Commissioner visits sugar plantation to appreciate farm mechanisation in Maharashtra

H.E. Dr. Perks M. Ligoya, Malawi High Commissioner accompanied by Mr. Jamdade, Vice President, Overseas, Rajarambapu Patil Group paid a visit at Islampur, Taluka- Walwa, in the District of Sangli in the State-Maharashtra in India, on 25 February 2014. The main objective of the visit was to appreciate farm mechanization and use of power tillers in the sugarcane plantation.

H.E. Dr. Perks M. Ligoya, Malawi High Commissioner visited a sugar plantation at Islampur, Taluka- Walwa, in the District of Sangli in the State-Maharashtra in India, on 25 February 2014. The main objective of the visit was to appreciate farm mechanization and use of power tillers in the sugarcane plantation. The High Commissioner was highly impressed with the power tillers that are used in the sugar plantation at Islampur. He informed his hosts that he would ensure that power tillers should be introduced in Malawi to promote small scale farm mechanization for growing of sugar, rice and other crops.
