Captain Lewis Mbilizi arrived in New Delhi on 4 July 2013 to take up his post as Deputy High Commissioner at the Malawi High Commission. Captain Mbilizi's arrival was preceded by the coming of His Excellency Dr. Perks Ligoya who arrived three months earlier in New Delhi as Malawi's new envoy to India.


Captain Mbilizi has vast experience in management, having worked as Chief Executive of Air Malawi; Malawi Housing Corporation; Airport Developments Limited (ADL) and Malawi Catering Services Limited (MCSL). He is a qualified Airline Pilot with 20 years' experience. He holds a Master of Science (MSc.) Degree in Air Transport Management and Operations from Cranfield University, Bedford in UK. He is also a holder of an Advanced Management Diploma from The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics Transport, (MCILT) of UK. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Business Administration and Strategic Management at Exploits University, which he hopes to complete by November this year. He is married and has three daughters and a son.

With such vast experience, Captain Mbilizi has beefed up the energetic team of diplomats of the Malawi High Commission in New Delhi.
